Portal - Business Profile

With the option to switch between different accounts (please refer to the Account Selection article here for more details), you can also change specific details that are associated with the business you are running.

1. To do this, log into the portal and from the middle menu on the right-hand side select Account > Business Account from the drop down menu:



This will take you to the form that was originally filled in and submitted, that captured all of your business details.

You can also switch between the Business Account and Personal Account by clicking on the tab above the form NOTE : it will highlight to show which option that it is currently on:



2. Section A has the Business Details where you can view and make changes to the relevant business related information:



a. The ABN numeric field is used for the business number and has a 50 character limit:



b. The ACN numeric field is required for the company number and also has a 50 character limit:



c. The ARSN numeric field is for the registered scheme number and also has a 50 character limit:



d. The No of Employees numeric field is used for the number of employees that the business owns and has a 10 character limit:



e. The Legal Name text field is needed for the name of the person or entity that owns the business and is alphanumeric with a 220 character limit:



f. The Trading Name text field is used for the name the business users (for advertising and sales purposes) and is alphanumeric with a 220 character limit:



g. The Industry drop down list is used to outline what trade the business is involved in:



There are 19 options to choose from which are listed below:
  • Accommodations and Food Services
  • Administrative and Support Services
  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing
  • Arts and Recreation Services
  • Construction
  • Education and Training
  • Electricity, Gas, Water and Waste Services
  • Financial and Insurance Services
  • Health Care and Social Assistance
  • Information Media and Telecommunication
  • Manufacturing
  • Mining
  • Other Services
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services
  • Public Administration and Safety
  • Rental, Hiring and Real Estate Services
  • Retail Trade
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing
  • Wholesale Trade
h. The Nature of Business drop down list is only used if there are available options (but is by default, on Not Set):



i. The Business Activity text field is required to outline the type of activities that the business will be involved in and is alphanumeric with a limit of 255 characters:


j. At the bottom of section A, there is the button which will allow you to either add a brand new or edit an existing related party.

2. Section B has the Incorporation details for the business where you can alter relevant information:

 

a. The Type of Entity is a drop down list and determines what form of business entity is being established:



There are 153 options to choose from which are listed below:

b. The Country of Inc. is a drop down list with all countries to choose from which states which country your incorporation is based in and/or from:



c. The Date Incorporated field is the official date that the incorporation was active and operating:



d. The Years Established field outlines how long the business has been operating for (but is locked and cannot be changed):



e. The Years With Owner field is the number of years that the owner has held or been with the company for:



f. The Registered Body text field outlines which company is hosting your business details in their register:



g. The Registered Number text field is the official number that the company has been registered under:



h. The Listed Market text field is required if the company has been included and traded on a given exchange:



i. The Parent Listed Co. text field is used for the company name of the listed parent (if applicable):



3.Section C has the Contact Details for the business where the numbers that were originally recorded and links can be changed:



a. The Work Phone number field is a compulsory field for the office number that is recorded against the company. This is numerical with a 10 character limit:



b. The Fax number field is only used if your company still uses fax and has an associated number. This is numerical with a 10 character limit:



c. The Website field is the URL or link for your company website. This is alphanumeric with a 50 character limit:



4. Section D has the Address Details for the business that you can change if the company has moved to another address:



a. The Trading Address field is the physical address that your company is based at and will already show the address that was originally entered when the company was first signed up. If the address needs to be changed, start typing in the Trading Address and it should look up and find the address automatically. If the address cannot be found, it can be entered manually via the link click here to add manually:



b. The Traded here for drop down list allows you to select the number of years and months that your business has been at the address provided:



c. The Mailing Address Same as trading address, is just confirmation that the addresses are the same and the check box will need to be enabled:



d. The Save Details button is the final process to save all of the information that was changed across all sections:
